Summer School Courses

Over the summer, K¹² gives students a great opportunity to catch up, get ahead, try a new language, or explore exciting electives, so that they can start the following school year strong.

K¹² offers a variety of online courses specifically designed for the summer months—from high school options designed to help students recover credits or earn new ones, to world languages for grades 3 and up. Though most are full versions of K¹² regular courses, they're paced to be completed over a shorter, more intensive period of time.

To learn more and to purchase, visit the K¹² online store or speak to a summer program specialist at 866.529.0167.

Get on Track, Get Ahead, Get Inspired

  • Get back on track with credit recovery courses in English, algebra, science, history, and other key subjects. Designed for high school students who didn't pass a subject the first time, these courses use fresh content and new approaches to teach "unlearned" concepts, letting students move past material they’ve already mastered. Plus, most are ELL-supported.
  • Get prepared for the transition from middle to high school with comprehensive summer immersion in areas such as Algebra I, English I, Biology, and more.
  • Get ahead in a core subject—or a world language like Spanish, French, Chinese, or German.
  • Get inspired with career-building electives or personal enrichment courses, including Computer Literacy, Web Design, and Skills for Health.

Summer Courses 2012

For summer school, the pacing for what would typically be one semester has been condensed to four weeks (20 instructional days). This means that a one-semester course (marked with an asterisk below) is designed to be completed in four weeks, and a two-semester course is designed to be completed in eight weeks.Students are expected to commit 4–5 hours a day for each high school course, and 2–3 hours a day for each world language course in grades 3–8.
